2020: Win or Loose

Have you ever imagined that anytime in your life everything will change to an extent you have never even thought of? The year 2020 is one such year or rather I should say the only year which changed the life of every human being living on this planet. I am sure that no one has ever imagined that suddenly their life will change, their habits will change, their way of living will change and many more. Some random thoughts were roaming in my mind and I was analysing all the major events which occurred in 2020 and yes you guessed it right all were negative events only. Nothing is going right this year. Sharing with you some of the top events which went wrong in 2020 according to me.

  • Australian Bush fires
  • Coronavirus Pandemic
  • COVID-19 death toll rising
  • World’s biggest lockdown
  • Cyclone ravages West Bengal
  • Gas leaks
  • Locust attacks
  • India, China border flare-up
  • Legends Rishi Kapoor and Irfan Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput passed away
  • Air crash in Pakistan, Iran
  • Iran attacks US bases in Iraq, kills many
  • The US kills Iranian general Iranian Qasem Soleimani
  • Kobe Bryant, daughter killed in chopper crash
  • Beirut explosion
For once let’s just focus on COVID-19 only. More than half of the year has passed and nothing went right. Everyone is hating this 2020. But have you ever looked into the positive side of this COVID-19? I know there is nothing positive in this but according to me, there is something. Think this way – Our mother Earth healed itself to a great extent. Rivers, lakes all got cleaned. Animals which disappeared suddenly appeared (thanks to the lockdown), pollution level came down to a great extent. Have you ever thought that long ago we all had talked that by 2020 we will be having flying cars, super technology and much more and just see the reality – we are teaching each other the importance of hand wash, sanitisers, masks. Masks – right, tell me honestly how many of you wore masks because of rising pollution levels, I guess very few, even I don’t wear it. But now, we can’t even go out without it and now the pollution levels are very low. That’s life, that’s how things change.
As more than half of the year has passed, it seems like we have lost – many of us have lost jobs, even internships also, losses in the business, deaths of many people, etc. Only 2.5 months are left which does't mean that we have lost our battle. We can still win this and we will surely win this. Our fight is not to survive this year or win this year but our fight is to win the battle with global pandemic, our fight is with how we will overcome and fight back with all the losses.
And I believe that we can win this battle only when we support each other, follow all the safety measures properly.
One thing I always say to myself or to anyone whenever the person is sad or depressed : Whenever you feel that you are loosing or you are failing just remember one thing is that these are all the tests which GOD is taking from you and he has something good for you. He is just checking or testing whether you are capable of this or not. You just have to continue to do your hard work and prove yourself to GOD that yes you are the right person for that thing which he has chosen for you.
This year has taught us many things and from these learnings, we can win.
Comment down your experience so far with this year, your learnings (if any), and how are you going to take the remaining year?

  2. This year has definitely got to be an unforgettable one.. Which has brought major changes in our lives from wearing masks, using sanitizers, disinfecting the items purchased from outside to drinking herbal teas and kadhas. Just like every other thing, this year too had some pros and cons. Where on one hand, we were locked up in our homes for three months during lockdown period without any socialising or public gatherings. While on the other, we got a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with our families which we failed to get earlier coz of our hectic schedules.
